While still embraced as “Dem Bums,” the Brooklyn Dodgers made definitive strides toward success during the 1940s, enjoying nine winning seasons and three National League pennants. These (2) ONL Frick baseballs are respectively autographed by members of the 1944 and 1946 Flatbush installments. Includes:

1944 Brooklyn Dodgers Team-Signed Ball: a creamy ONL Frick ball (grade “6”) signed in black ink by (17). Signature strengths vary to show between (“5-6”) and (“9”) quality. Includes: Sweet Spot: Schultz and Dressen (coach); North Panel: Rochelli, Brown, Rosen, Koch and Galen; South Panel: Hayworth, Stanky, Walker and Sunkel; West Panel: Bordagaray and Webber; East Panel: Warren (d.1968), Olmo, Bragan and Owen. Just to the left of the factory stampings on the west panel, a vintage handwritten notation reads: Brooklyn Dodgers 1944.” On the opposite panel (just above the ONL trademark), a stamping reads “U.S.N.,” perhaps a wartime indication of United States Navy. 1946 Brooklyn Dodgers Team-Signed Ball: a clean and creamy ONL Frick sphere (grade “8”) with (21) black ink signatures (average “7-8” strength). Includes: Sweet Spot: Medwick (“8-9” strength) and Durocher (clubhouse); North Panel: Miksis, Higbie, Dressen, Casey (clubhouse), Barney (clubhouse) and Herring (clubhouse); South Panel: Reese (“7-8” strength), Galen, Lavagetto, Furillo (clubhouse), Ramazzotti, and Schultz; West Panel: Reiser, Edwards, Whitman, Walker and Stanky (clubhouse); East Panel: Lombardi (clubhouse) and Stevens.
