As the Flatbush faithful knows, Jackie Robinson almost never took up residence on the sweet spot of a team-signed ball. Like Lou Gehrig, Robinson humbly preferred the side panel. Yet here is one of the very, very few exceptions to that rule, with the legendary barrier breaker instead prominently situated front and center. Darkly toned, scuffed and shellacked, this ONL (Giles) ball features signatures averaging "6-7" of Robinson (clubhouse), Campanella ("7"), Reese ("6"), Hodges ("7-8"), D. Williams, Dressen, Pfister, Wade, Haugstad, Loes, Black, Abrams, Romano, Terwilliger, Van Cuyk, Podres, Branca, Belardi, Morgan, King, Mossor, Mallette, Podbielan, Labine, Bridges, Pafko, Alexander, Shuba, Moore. Auction LOA from JSA.
