Switching from seat to seat until getting into confrontations with the orchestra conductor and, eventually, the entire evening variety show cast, “Mr. Pest” was portrayed by silent film great Charlie Chaplin in the 1915 production of “A Night At The Show.” This 10x8” black-and-white movie still is autographed by its iconic subject. A print showing a scene in what was Chaplin’s 12th film with Chicago’s Essanay Studio, the photo shows Chaplin (in his trademark top hat and small mustache) attempting to woo Charlotte Mineau. On the lower right border, Chaplin has signed in purple-ink steel tip fountain pen (“8” strength) and inscribed “Feb 3rd 72.” The crease-free photo presents beautifully and is suited for framed display.
