Living “The Impossible Dream” in the summer of 1967, the resurgent Boston Red Sox were fueled by Hall of Fame outfielder Carl Yastrzemski, whose Triple Crown exploits warranted front cover exposure on this August 21, 1967 Sports Illustrated issue. Encapsulated and Graded Very Fine 8.0 by CGC, this v27 #8 example is the lone specimen at its tier with none graded higher. This is an extremely rare "Dark Era Print" issue and ranks #41 on the "Toughest to Find" list. As this issue hit the stands, Yaz’ impressive numbers stood at .321, 31 and 89 and the BoSox were within a game and a half of the front-running Twins. It marked Yastrzemski’s first-ever SI cover appearance.
