A big part of the business of baseball is moving players through the ranks of the minor leagues and promotion to the big league parent club. In this case the parent is the Philadelphia Phillies franchise making many such transactions. Offered are (218) official player assignment contracts made by the Phillies from 1961-1966 with affiliate teams such as the Buffalo Bisons, San Diego Baseball Club, Chattanooga, Dallas Ft. Worth, Williamsport, Golden west, Indianapolis, Bakersfield, Spartanburg, Arkansas and occasionally MLB teams with the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox and Washington Senators.
Each contract designation is stored in a separate protective sleeve with a backer board and housed in chronological order in a set of five binders. All remain in better to excellent condition and a good number are signed by longtime Phillies GM John Quinn (no authentication due to time/cost restraints). Also many are signed or initialed by executives from other clubs and/or other Phillies staff members, though there are plenty that are unsigned.
Some of the many players represented are: Al Neiger, Joe Koppe, Jim Coker, Paul Brown, Choo Choo Coleman, Pancho Herrera, Joe Lonnett, Paul Brown, Bill Consolo, Dave Bennett, Dennis Bennett, Bob Malkmus, John Hernstein, Danny Cater, John Boozer, Jim Lemon, Don Locke, Bob Oldis, Alex Johnson, Costen Shockley, Pat Corrales, John Boozer, Alolfo Phillips, Grant Jackson and many more, including multi-player transactions.
