Far and away pacing the Majors in home runs (153) and runs scored (775), the 1952 Brooklyn Dodgers overcame the heartache of the previous season’s “Shot Heard ‘round the World,” only to endure further agony by losing Games 6 and 7 of the World Series at Ebbets Field. Issued during that Fall Classic, this pin features a black-and-white team photo of the perennial bridesmaids. Measuring 3-1/2” in diameter, the celluloid keepsake shows the team in four rows, with “Brooklyn Dodgers 1952” and “National League Champions” flanking the image above and below, respectively. On the surprisingly smooth and rust-free reverse, the pinback remains intact and there is a series of faint impressions.
