Interestingly, this letter went out to the longtime, highly respected Yankee scout Joe Devine right around the time that he was an influential force in bringing PCL phenom Joe DiMaggio on board. Typed on 8-1/2 x 11" Newark Bears stationery (which respectively lists Jacob Ruppert and George Weiss as President and Vice President), the letter features a black-ink "8" signature, "George M. Weiss," with the additional notation, "Do not know if there is more than one kind of stock, be sure to have this stipulated." VG-EX condition. Auction LOA from JSA.
