Here's a historical artifact that belongs in Cooperstown. This trio of 4-1/4 x 2-1/2" snapshots (mounted to a period 9 x 6-1/2" backing) originates from the Hall of Fame's 1939 Grand Opening. It's essentially an alternative first-hand view on the festivities that brought us the iconic image of the then-surviving Hall of Fame members (linked here). Some of those same figures (Walter Johnson, Connie Mack, Cy Young, possibly even a bit of Babe Ruth) are visible during the ceremony, then Ty Cobb is pictured with a bat and ball in hand, and finally Wagner and Collins are captured on Doubleday Field. EX/EX-MT condition.
