Justifiably dubbed “The Greatest Game Ever Played,” the 1958 NFL Championship contest combined key performances by Hall of Fame participants, a historic venue in Yankee Stadium, a national television audience and sudden-death overtime. Issued in the Bronx that day, this official championship program is autographed by Baltimore Colts icon Johnny Unitas. Executed in blue marker on the front cover, Unitas’ scripting projects (“9”) strength and clarity. On page 23, fellow Colts Hall of Famer Art Donovan has signed in blue marker (“9-10” strength). The 32-page guide presents nicely, with covers and all crisp pages intact. A small lower right corner crease is present on the front cover, but this keepsake does not have any compacting folds, which are very common to stadium-issued publications from this era. Aside from the obvious appeal of the autographs, the contents are amazing and include a black-and-white photo of a Giants brain trust that included Tom Landry and Vince Lombardi! Comes with a cert/sticker from JSA.
