Winning in spite of seven turnovers, the Baltimore Colts were oblivious to their sloppy play in Super Bowl V and happy to ease some of the sting from their unexpected loss to the Jets just two years prior. In fact, the triumphant Colts remain the only Super Bowl winner not to have the game’s MVP honor. That went to Dallas Cowboys linebacker Chuck Howley, who intercepted two passes in a losing effort. Issued at the Orange Bowl for that day’s gala event, this official program is autographed by Howley. Decorating the colorful front cover, Howley’s blue marker autograph projects (“9-10”) strength and is accompanied by his inscription of “S.B. V M.V.P.” With all 100 pages intact, the guide presents at the (VG-EX) plateau, as multiple wrinkles and surface wear affect the front cover. Still, these flaws do not affect Howley’s resplendent autograph. Comes with a cert/sticker from JSA.
Also included are: an 8x10” color photo signed by Hovley in blue marker (“10” strength); a Super Bowl V patch and placard; and (2) 1990 NFL Pro Set Super Bowl V collector’s cards (both NM). The Howley signed 8x10” photo is covered by an auction LOA from JSA.
