Description

Arguably the most exciting Mid-Summer Classic ever played, the 1955 installment culminated on a Stan Musial walk-off homer to cap a National League 6-5 triumph and comeback from a 5-0 deficit. Fittingly, the game was held at Milwaukee’s County Stadium, which paced the league in attendance for the third of six straight seasons that year. These (2) baseballs are autographed by the respective All-Star Game squads. Includes:

1955 National League All-Stars Team-Signed Baseball: a creamy ONL Giles orb (grade “6-7” with a uniform coat of period shellac) signed in ballpoint by (23). Signatures average (“6”) strength with: Sweet Spot: Durocher (manager); North Panel: Thomas, Hodges, Haddix, Arroyo, Roberts, Ennis and Jones; South Panel: Newcombe, Nuxhall, Snider, Mueller, Banks (“4” strength) and Burgess; West Panel: Musial, Kluszewski, Logan, Ennis and Mays (“5” strength); East Panel: Schoendienst, Stengel, Giles and Friend

1955 American League All-Stars Team-Signed Baseball: a creamy ONL Giles orb (grade “7” with a thin uniform coat of period shellac) signed in ballpoint by (23), Autographs average (“5-6” quality with: Sweet Spot: Berra (“3” strength); North Panel: Avila, Power, Mossi, Score, unidentified and Pierce; South Panel: Doby, Smith, Kaline, Gromek and Rosen; West Panel: Sullivan, Vernon, Feller and Fox; East Panel: Wynn, Turley, Ford, Kuenn, Mantle (“5” strength), Yost and Lollar
