With a memorable triumph in the “Ice Bowl” and a subsequent Super Bowl II thrashing of the Oakland Raiders, The 1967 Green Bay Packers became the first and only team of the playoff era (1933-present) to win three successive titles. Here’s a rare and treasured survivor: a vintage souvenir pigskin is autographed by (44) members of that “Titletown” roster. The tan-colored keepsake features and NFL logo badge and stampings proclaiming “GREEN BAY PACKERS – WORLD CHAMPIONS – 1967.” Black ballpoint signatures, meanwhile, average (“6-7”) strength and clarity. The declarative panel is reserved for coaches’ endorsements. Includes: Bengston, Burns, Hanner, Lombardi, McCormick, Schnelker and Wietecha. The following two panels are decorated with players’ scriptings. Includes: Aldridge, Anderson, Bowman, Bratkowski, B. Brown, T. Brown, Caffey, Chandler, Crutcher, Dale, Davis, Dowling, Fleming, Gillingham, Grabowski, Gregg, Hart, Hyland, Jeter, Jordan, Kostelnik, Kramer, Long, McGee, Mercein, Nitschke, Pitts, Robinson, Rowser, Skoronski, Starr, Thurston, Weatherwax, Williams, Wilson, Wood and Wright. Additionally, there appears to be a signature just below Bart Starr’s autograph. It appears as though it could be that of Herb Adderley, but is impossible to discern. Note: the “7” in the “1967” factory stamping has been hand drawn (no doubt, to obscure the “8” that referred to the calendar year of the actual Super Bowl win). The ball does not completely inflate, yet presents as though fully inflated. Full photo LOA from JSA.
