Description

Birds of a feather flock together as this pair of Redbirds displays are autographed by their Hall of Fame Subjects! Includes:

Stan Musial Signed 1949 Restaurant Menu: framed to 21-3/4 x 17-3/4”, a vintage menu is unfolded to show the front and back covers (the interior is displayed from the reverse). On the front cover, Musial has signed in blue marker (“10” strength) and inscribed “1949.” The menu presents wonderfully (especially when you consider the Filet Mignon for only $4.25!) and is a wonderful reminder of the Hall of Famer’s culinary endeavor with companion Julius “Biggie” Garagnani. The high-end restaurant was very successful in its day. Musial was a frequent presence and offered free meals to anyone from his hometown of Donora, Pennsylvania.

Enos Slaughter Signed 1946 World Series Pennant: framed to 36-3/8 x 19-1/9”, a green felt banner features red applique designs of the team logo and player last names. In the upper left corner, Slaughter has signed in black marker (“6-7” strength). The item presents nicely with pinholes to facilitate previous display. Colors remain vibrant and applique is near 100 percent. This particular pennant is listed as “Extremely Rare” in Mike Egner’s 2013 Vintage Pennant Price Guide II. That, coupled with the fact that it is autographed by the man who scored from first base on a single to win Game 7, make this lot a true “diamond in the rough!”
