Baseball titans Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner clashed in the 1909 World Series in a classic seven game battle. Led by the "Georgia Peach", the Tigers were making their third straight postseason appearance and came up one win short against the "Flying Dutchman" and the surprising pitching of rookie hurler Babe Adams. Commemorating this historic event is the offered 1950s RPPC featuring supreme batsmen Cobb and Wagner.

Measuring 3-1/2 x 5-1/2", this crisp unused postcard remains in (EX-MT) condition, with only minor corner wear preventing a higher rating. Possibly issued to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the '09 Series, this handsome souvenir boasts a crystal clear photo with pleasing gloss and white borders. The reverse is printed with a Kodak credit and the legend "Photo Post Card" on the reverse, which is also clean and bright, with deference to a handwritten "Cobb-Wagner" identifying notation. Research for similar period examples suggests this 1950s treasure is fairly scarce, as no others were offered for sale at the time of this listing and no previous sales were discovered.
