Hall of Fame hurler Lefty Grove makes a pitch for your attention with this attractive single-signed baseball. Winner of 300 games over a 17-year MLB career, Grove ranks as one of the all-time greats. His 1975 passing at the age of 75 occurred well before the era of paid autograph lines at memorabilia shows, putting his prestigious autograph firmly into the "tough zone" for HOFer collectors. Signed during the waning years of his life, this OAL/Cronin baseball sports a fairly distinct ("7-8") strength signature, ideally located on the sweet spot. Though the factory stamps are well faded with just scant traces of ink visible, this off-white orb remains pleasing with clean panels and tight red stitching. Full photo LOA from JSA.
