Three years following the conclusion of World War II, the Bowman Gum Company of Philadelphia introduced their 48-card baseball issue. This artifact is comprised of (4) 9-card rows with each of the 22 edge cards displaying varying degrees of paper loss and/or acute creasing. While the majority of the 14 interior cards have sustained limited creasing, their appearances are not seriously affected. The reverses are double printed. All key cards have sustained varying degrees of wear. Highlights include: #1 Elliott, #2 Blackwell, #3 Kiner RC, #4 Mize RC, #5 Feller, #6 Berra RC, #12 Sain, #14 Reynolds, #17 Slaughter, #18 Spahn RC, #19 Henrich, #36 Musial RC, #38 Schoendienst RC, #40 Marion, #47 Thomson and #48 Koslo.
