Paired together are (2) vintage paper items dating from the 1800s to 1931 related to famous persons from the fields of entertainment and science, with: 1.) 1931 German language movie program from the famous Charlie Chaplin film "City Lights", dated 1/13/31 on the front cover, this "Film Kurier" program #1578 presents in (EX) condition and features eight pages of photos from the treasured film; 2.) 1800s Herbert Spencer (d.1903) handwritten and signed letter on 4-1/2 x 7" stationery from the Royal Pavilion Hotel, Folkestone (England), Spencer was a celebrated scientist and the leading philosopher of the Victorian Era, greatly concerned with evolution, he coined the phrase "survival of the fittest", this neatly written two-page note remains in solid (EX-MT+) condition with a ("7-8") signature on the second page, comes with auction LOA from JSA
