Arguably the greatest hitter and most fiery competitor in the rich history of the game, Ty Cobb remained a respected authority on the game some three decades after his retirement. This display showcases a Cobb hitting tutorial autographed by its Georgia-born subject! Framed to 14 x 26” under a green matte, a 1950 edition of the Famous Slugger Yearbook is displayed to show its unfolded covers, as well as the two-page spread entitled “Science of Hitting by Ty Cobb.” On the latter display, Cobb has signed in his customary green ink. Accented by his familiar paraph, Cobb’s flowing signature projects (“9-10”) potency and is dated (in Cobb’s hand) “4/25/52” and personalized. Additionally, the booklet’s original mailing envelope has the recipient’s name written by Cobb. Comes with a full photo LOA from JSA.
