Even at 7” tall, Mickey Mantle looks imposing with this vintage bobbing head doll. Released during the period 1961-1963 as part of the “white base” series, this Mantle round base version stands out with impressive condition quality and a revamped body type, that differs from the square base version with broader shoulders, a pumped up chest and the left fist placed on the hip, creating an opening between the arm and the body. Naked eye examination shows this exciting example to be nearly flawless, with just a couple of small breaks on the facsimile signature base decal and sporadic traces of slight yellowing noted on the uniform, while under magnification, just a single hairline crack of the slightest nature is seen on the head, above the right shoulder between the ear and the hair. Otherwise this gleaming figure is bright and glossy with vibrant colors and strong detail definition to rate as (NM).
