Description

In the long history of college football, no other team has garnered as much acclaim as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Ardently followed by fans across the nation, this prominent team has claimed eleven consensus national championships and has been named as co-champion for at least eight more. This championship tradition began a hundred years under legendary coach Knute Rockne, who led ND to its first three claimed championships. Fast forward sixty years or so and you come the Lou Holtz era, when the Irish laid claim to their last consensus national title in 1988.

Grab your piece of Irish glory with this Notre Dame game worn football helmet signed by living legend Holtz. Mounted on a handsome 18x11x1 walnut colored natural wood base, this formidable gold helmet shows signs of authentic game wear and is prominently signed by Holtz (“7-8”) in black felt-tip pen on the right side near the top. An engraved brass plate at front proclaims “”Authentic Game Helmet University of Notre Dame” and the helmet has cushioned attachments at front at rear, that both read simply as “Irish”. Additionally, the original Riddell factory label is worn but firmly affixed at rear and the twice labeled Riddell chin strap is securely attached at the proper points. Helmet comes with COA from the University of Notre Dame for authentic game use, autograph comes with auction LOA from JSA.
