His rookie numbers set an ample precedent. With 37 home runs, 130 RBI and a .329 batting average, Albert Pujols had indeed arrived in 2001 and kept right on swinging to the tune of 30 or more home runs for 12 straight seasons. This bat was ably employed and autographed by the former Cardinal during that unbelievable rookie campaign. The uncracked Rawlings-Adirondack “707B” (34”, 32-oz) block-letter white ash weapon features a red ring and telltale signed of excellent game use. There are ball, bat-rack and deeply embedded stitch marks throughout, as well as light pine-tar residue and scoring upon the handle. On the knob, the model number, date and batch code are factory engraved, while a handwritten notation reads “Pujols 32” (with the latter identifier indicating weight). Between the center brand and prominent barrel stampings, Pujols has signed in black marker (“8-9” strength) and inscribed “#5 – All-Star Game 2001.” Regarding the inscription, Pujols drew a walk in his lone plate appearance in the 2001 Mid-Summer Classic. This bat has been Graded A8 by MEARS and has also received a GU-7 rating by PSA/DNA (LOAs from both accompany). Additionally, there is a full photo LOA from JSA (for the autograph).
