Dig up more than a few gold nuggets with this multi-signed book titled “The Golden Age of Baseball”. This oversized 1989 first edition hardcover book by Bill Gutman takes the field in (NM) condition with a whistle clean dust jacket in place. The gold nuggets we speak of take the form of (96) autographs by big name HOFers and a galaxy of stars, applied throughout boldly in blue felt-tip pen with remarkable (average “9-10”) potency.

Key signers are: Ted Williams by himself on a two-page spread; HOFers Luis Aparicio, Leon Day, Rich Ashburn, Ron Santo, Bill Mazeroski on the first page at front among (36) signatures; and HOFers throughout with Whitey Ford, Monte Irvin, Enos Slaughter 2X, Bob Feller 2X both on a full page photos, Phil Rizzuto, Rick Ferrell, Hal Newhouser 2X, Bobby Doerr, Robin Roberts on a full page photo, Orlando Cepeda, Harmon Killebrew on a full page photo and Bill Mazeroski.

Many of those named above and other signatures appear on corresponding pages with photos and tales of memorable moments and events, including: Mazeroski’s World Series walk-off home run in 1961; Don Larsen’s perfecto in the 1956 WS; Bobby Thomson’s “Shot Heard Round the World” in 1951 co-signed by Ralph Branca; and Johnny Podres 1955 WS MVP pitching performance.

Among the balance are many fan favorites, including Frank Howard with “Hondo”, Dom DiMaggio 3X, Minnie Minoso, Tommy Henrich, Hank Bauer, Bobby Richardson, Ralph Houk and a number of the dearly departed. Auction LOA from JSA.
