Description

Asked late in his life what he would have done differently, slugger supreme Ted Williams replied “I’d have done better in the ’46 World Series”. 1946 Was the only year the Red Sox made it to the “Fall Classic” during Williams four-decade spanning career, losing in seven games to the Cardinals. Though he didn’t get a World Series ring, “Teddy Ballgame” walked away with a tremendous list of accomplishments few have matched. He also had his friends, as evidenced by the offered multi-signed display titled “Ted Williams and Friends”.

Framed and matted to overall dimensions of 14-1/2 x 17-1/2”, this handsome display showcases a November, 1990 print honoring Williams and four teammates who were close pals and who all played together on the 1946 Boston Red AL Champions team. Seen in a visible area of 10-1/2 x 13-1/2”, this sketch print is signed (average “9-10”) by all (5) of the depicted Red Sox players, with: Ted Williams, Bobby Doerr, Dom DiMaggio, Johnny Pesky and Eddie Pellagrini. Presenting in excellent condition, ready for prominent display, this prize piece is also signed by artist James M. Amore with quality equaling that of the other signers. Auction LOA from JSA.
