Description

Philadelphia Phillies slugger Chuck Klein was a vicitm of the dreaded "big fish" syndrome. An MVP, Triple Crown winner and 4X NL home leader, Klein was a whale of player mired in the "small pond" of chronically bad Phillies teams. Gone from this world at the relatively young age of 54 in 1958, Klein positions as a fairly tough HOF member autograph. The "Hoosier Hammer" and five of his 1940 Phillies teammates are collected with this multi-signed period cut. This sturdy 2 x 2-1/2" rectangle lists (6) distinct autographs showing average ("9") strength, with from top to bottom: Clyde (Lefty) Smoll, Chuck Klein, "Si" Johnson, Joe Marty, "Boom-Boom" Beck and Wally Millies. Aucton LOA from JSA.
