Undefeated throughout his professional Heavyweight Boxing career, Rocky Marciano tried his hand as a television actor, wrestling referee, boxing commentator and restaurant owner following his days in the ring. This children’s menu packs a wallop with a bold Marciano autograph. Issued at one of Marciano’s eateries, the 8x10” thick stock souvenir features a black-and-white photo of the champion. Executed in blue ballpoint, Marciano’s signature shows (“9”) potency and is accompanied by his salutation of “Hello.” On the reverse, a “Childs Menu” lists choices for a full course dinner for a mere $1.95. A caption on the obverse reads “Rocky Marciano – World’s Heavyweight Champion – Al Weill, Manager.” The latter detail dates the item to sometime before 1957, as Marciano and Weill had amicably parted ways that year. The item shows areas of discoloration from previous handling and display. The autograph remains as bold as can be! Full photo LOA from JSA.
