East Coast Giants loom large in this trio of single-signed baseballs. The Polo Grounds products include:
Hank Boney: a mildly toned ONL White ball (grade “7”) signed “Henry T Boney” on a side panel in black ink (“5-6” strength) and inscribed “1927.” Boney (d.2002) pitched in three games that season (his lone campaign in the big leagues). Comes with JSA cert/sticker.
Tim McNamara: a very mildly toned ONL White ball (grade “7-8”) signed on a side panel in blue ballpoint (“7-8” strength) and inscribed “Boston Braves – 1922 New York Giants – 1926.” McNamara (d.1994) pitched in six games during the 1926 season, his fifth and final as a Major Leaguer. Comes with a PSA/DNA cert/sticker.
Connie Ryan: a lightly toned ONL Giamatti orb (grade “6”) signed on the sweet spot in blue ballpoint (“8” strength) and inscribed “6-6 4/16/53.” That translates, of course, to Ryan’s 6-for-6 day at Pittsburgh’s Forbes Field. Though Ryan’s Phillies lost, 14-12 to the Bucs that afternoon, his banner day with the bat upped his batting average to .692! Ryan (d.1996) played for the Giants during the 1942 season. Comes with JSA cert/sticker.
