Travel back to the late 1940s with this group of (6) album pages signed by members of New York City MLB teams. As America was getting back to normal after the horros of WWII and Jackie Robinson was breaking down color barriers, the game of baseball thrived in the nation's biggest city. The property of a then youthful fan, these vintage late '40s pages contain (25) period autographs provided by Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Giants, New York Yankees and a visiting player or two, collected on both sides of the pages.
Evidence of the original proprietor's nature appears in the form of a note from "Linda to Elaine" in child's writing on a page without player signatures. All other writing takes the form of baseball star autographs averaging ("8-9") potency with: Leo Durocher, Duke Snider, Pee Wee Reese, Paul Minner, Gene Heramski, Red Barber, Connie Desmond, Mike McCormick, Billy Cox, Rex Barney, Erv Palica, Hugh Casey, Carl Erskine, Eddie Miksis, Larry Jansen, Ed Stevens, Pete Reiser, Cal Abrams, Ewell Blackwell, Grady Hatton, Bill Voiselle, Tiny Bonham (signed as Ernie), Bobby Thomson, Stan Rojek and Buddy Kerr. Auction LOA from JSA.
