Good news for Philadelphia Phillies phans, here’s at a shot a poster signed by your favorite team’s greatest players. Sponsored by Gillette Good News razors, this 1983 SGA poster boasts Dick Perez artwork images of the “Greatest All-Time Phillies Players” as celebrated by a banner device at center. This line-up of thirteen HOFers and stars is named the “Good News Centennial Team” at top and includes Phillies from 1950 “Whiz Kids” NL pennant winning team and the 1980 World Series champions, who finally brought home the title after ninety-eight years of toil.

Measuring 22x27 in a 23x29 frame, this colorful piece shows radiant colors against a black background, with only light traces of wear evident upon close inspection. (12/13) Depicted players have signed by means of blue felt-tip marker pen with average (“9-10”) potency unless noted, with clockwise from 12 o’clock: Larry Bowa, Manny Trillo, Bob Boone, Garry Maddox (“8-9”), Del Ennis, Rich Ashburn, Mike Schmidt (“7”), Tug McGraw, Dallas Green, Robin Roberts, Steve Carlton and Pete Rose. Eight of the signatures are personalized and the only player that didn’t sign is Jim Konstanty, who passed away years before this poster was created. Full photo LOA from JSA.
